Suitable Laptop trolley

I am looking to buy a laptop trolley , that has inbuilt laptop chargers and also with functionality which protects the laptop battery from over charging.

 

I am looking to store 10 laptops of 15.5inch and please post me name of vendors , who sells this type of trolleys.

Currently fitted with Dell charging system, but Lapsafe do change them. Had it done some years back.

 

Need to check that 15" will fit, but I think they would.

LapCaddy where the best ones I've worked with (the bigger + 20+ units) the smaller 10-20+ units with the Magazine-rack/File type holder were horrible to work with.

 

The Ergotron ones we've had for iPads were OK and for the Ergotron laptops they're OK, but I prefer the Lapcaddy ones.

 

I hate laptop trolleys with a passion.

Best I have used are LocknCharge. Top loading, proper cable management and decent baskets. Got them from Haptic.

 

I have had some where the basket handles were the stupid way round so while being held the second a laptop was taken out it over balanced and tipped the rest out. Others where the cable management was awful leading to cut cables or cables pulled out of the usb plugs.

If it doesn't need to be mobile, laptop lockers might be another budget option:

They come with or without power sockets in the back. You'd have to use the original charger which can be a bit messy, but does the job.

Used to live them. Although programming the time was a bit of a faff.

 

Didn't work when the students didn't connect the DC jack to the laptop though!

Seconding a comment above..

 

Avoid the wooden LapCabby ones with the plastic divider things.

They're nothing more than Ikea cabinets on wheels.

Utterly dreadful. Zero cable management. Tiny space to hold 30 power supplies and cables.

No ventilation.

Oh, and their timer things have a penchant for resetting themselves to the factory default of "I'll charge for 5 minutes a day at 4am" (or something equally unhelpful).

Awful. Just. Awful.

 

The HP Enterprise ones - the large black ones - were brilliant, albeit more expensive than the above.

Individual shelves, vented, cable management for power and ethernet. Light years ahead of the Ikea ones.

Sadly no longer with us, so I've been told when we tried to order some new ones.

LapCabby have historically been a "you get what you pay for" brand, for me. Including a bad back when pushing them around!

 

I like the LocknCharge and Zioxi kit a lot, and the LapSafe stuff is basically a tank in trolley form. All three of those I like have timer options.

You would have to collect, and you'd need new locks or keys for the rear doors as I've only got two keys and they are captive (ie, you need both to open it).

I can remember when the laptops were stolen at my last school. No one locked the door on the cabinet which made it easy for them.

Best one we had the once was going up to the top of the school, to find the laptop trolley open, unlocked.... With the key in the lock. I give up.

Same thing here. It was left unlocked with the pair of the keys in the lock. I think the thieves were there for a long time too since they left the "bad" ones. Not sure why they were so desperate for 10 year old laptops, most with missing keys and loose hinges.
