Good Morning all,

We use SDS to create our classes on Teams which is great but now I've been asked how to add one big Team that has all our staff in. Our on prem security and distribution groups synced via Azure AD don't show up in Teams so I'm wondering what is the easiest way of doing this?

Thanks

I did this manually and you can add the group, but it would be static and not synced. I couldn't add/display Groups from the admin Teams console. I had to create the Team in the console, add myself or admin as the Owner, then go into the actual team as the Owner and add the group that way. That brought them all in.

Would love a synced Team of all staff though.... not too onerous as staff changes aren't overly frequent, but just another thing to consider.

Really strange this, today I've looked on Teams again and for some reason today I see our universal distribution groups to add as members when I'm sure they weren't before. I really don't get Teams and what groups it allows to see from on prem. At least that saves me a job. Thanks for your suggestion though.

I think MS have added this feature recently. I’m sure I seen it somewhere on the O365 message centre.

I think you are right. I've just checked and all of the class groups that we get Salamander to create from Sims are populated now in Teams. It kind of now makes SDS a bit pointless especially when that doesn't update anymore with changes and lots of teachers are reporting its not provisioning Teams for them automatically as per this "update" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/whats-new-with-school-data-sync
