We are planning to convert a classroom into IT suite and a classroom and would like to install a dual purpose computer desks.

Please can you let me know vendors who supply these type of furniture

Thanks and any help much appreciated.

Might be worth seeing if any local joiners want a project. We had a local joiner design and fit our IT suite furniture in some of our rooms and even 20 years on it still looks modern and the build quality is 100%.

It cost half of what furniture suppliers were wanting to charge.

Another vote for local joiner here. Using 900mm deep kitchen worktop and some custom made legs to support it which means chairs can go anywhere. No knees hitting posts etc.

I used to work at a school that had five classroom\it suites like this, and in my opinion they don't work.

A large number of pop up desks were wrecked after 3 years, due to the weight placed on top of them. We found that desks would break and fall through. Probably caused by students sitting on them.

Also layout of a ict room is key to stopping malicious damage. The normal classroom layout of multiple rows facing a teacher doesn't work for a ict room. This is because teachers won't be able to see what students are doing to the computers.

We had a new IT suite last summer and this is the option we went with
