New Website and Email

Hi Guys,

 

After some advice. My friend wants me to create him a website. So first off I will need a domain name. Where is the best place to purchase one of these.

 

What would you recommend I use to build his website (I am not great at coding so something with a GUI would be good).

 

Who would you use get email hosting from? He dosent want to spend loads so cheapest way possible.

Get an all in one package from someone I suppose, domain, dns, email, wordpress hosting.

I use krystal for my hosting, £40 a year.

 

Been very happy with them, good support.

 

I'd get email as it always looks good on advertising etc. I'd build with wordpress, dead easy.

Fasthosts offer an exchange mailbox, domain names and hosting. Been using them for about a year now for email and longer for the domain. I think they can provide SSL certs as well for the hosting. Edited May 13, 2020 by Davit2005

I set up a google workspace account and bought the domain through google domains. I bought some server space from Host Gator and configured it all through its C-Panel. I think there's a website builder included but I had to write my own which I maintain using an FTP client called Filezilla. I don't know if that's a bit much but it's quite simple, let me know if you're interested.

+1 for Fasthosts, I have been using them for hosting a wordpress website for a few years now. £7 a month.

https://www.hostinger.co.uk/ have worked well for me, normal £40 a year type deal. Hate coding and the website builder is good and also comes with the cheapest package which some others restrict to higher tiers, I think from memory that email is restricted to one forwarding only which is what I do, or they do normal email email etc but then you have to guide the user to adding another email account to their phone, computer etc.

Whatever you go with would check you can move it easily after a year or so as they all double or triple in price at that point.

I've recently had something similar and I used Webflow as a site builder - in-depth GUI and community templates/resources which were great.
