kennysarmy Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 This is the thread. Ideally I'd like it as a PDF. https://twitter.com/HolidayExtras/status/1251203455504519171 Any suggestions? I'm struggling to find a way. Cheers
ICTDirect_Dave Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Thread Reader can't help with this one as it is just a status update with lots of justifiably angry replies. You'd be best to unroll everything manually then print the whole webpage to pdf I reckon.

Cheers @DaveP this is your speciality The Thread Reader App will only unroll Twitter threads where the initial tweeter has created the thread by tweeting multiple replies. The chain is broken when another Twitter user replies to in the thread. Taking another approach, I can create a long [1366 x 10968] PDF (that's a bit grainy, sorry about that) So, will this do? Not bad, how did you do it? I've got to zoom in a fair bit to read, but if nothing else comes to light it'll do fine I think.
6Foot2 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 Not bad, how did you do it?... In several stages. In Chrome, I used Full Page Screen Capture to get a snapshot of as much of the thread as I could. I then copied the image to the clipboard. I pasted the clipboard contents into IrfanView and cropped the irrelevant Twitter content to the left and right of the captured thread. Still using IrfanView I printed the cropped image to a new PDF. 1

I had a think about this overnight. The (new) end result is still a bit grainy, but you won't have to zoom it as much. The process was the same, except stage 3: In Chrome, I used Full Page Screen Capture to get a snapshot of as much of the thread as I could. I then copied the image to the clipboard. I pasted the clipboard contents into IrfanView and cropped the irrelevant Twitter content to the left and right of the captured thread. Upload the image created in IrfanView to a JPG to PDF website, and download the resultant PDF (After experimenting with a few, I used ilovepdf.com) Holiday Extras Twitter Thread JPG 21.04.2020.pdf
Arthur Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Ideally I'd like it as a PDF. Did you need it as one long PDF or split across multiple A4 pages?

I also found that if you do the screen capture in Chrome then open in "Paint" I can go in to Page Setup -> Scaling and change it to 1 page wide by say 12 pages long and then print to PDF that way.
