We are looking to restricting a few things like login locations and MFA bypass know IPs. But if we buy one Azure P1 licence does this open it up to use or do we need to buy every user a licence ?

When I bought it, I paid for the same number of users as I had in our FTE EES/OVS calculation.

 

You allocate the licenses per user - if you don't have a license for each user, you'll have gaps in your security.

 

Pretty sure that allows you to apply it to pupils, but we didn't use it for ours, so can't be sure on that.

We've recently added Azure P1 to our annual OVS-ES licence.

 

Must admit we had some issues initially, as we were quoted (correctly) a code/cost that was based monthly, per staff. (e.g. FTE count x 12 = annual cost) but were over charged! As reseller made a miscalculation at time of purchase. All sorted now, thankfully.

 

For every staff license we purchased, we got 15 student licences FOC.

p1 is fine. But dont enable MFA per user, use a conditional access policy to do so.
