johbreaking Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Looking for two new tvs for the living rooms. Looking to spend around £1500 total for both. Looking at two 65 inch ones so looking for recommendations. One room I want a better one in than the other.
3s-gtech Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I’m a big fan of LG’s sets - plenty at work, one at home. Your budget would only get one of their incredible OLED sets, but two regular LED TVs are easily in budget e.g. 65UM7610PLB
XiJ Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 LG or Samsung. I got a 55” LG SM8500 for ~£600. You’d get 2x 65” versions in your budget. OLED are nice - but not sure they’re worth the extra yet. That said to me, £600-£800 is the Tv budget and they change so quick.
Protec Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 I have an LG one and it's great. I purposely chose an LED TV as they're usually the cheapest and I don't really like OLED and they can get burn-in over time and the TV regularly shows content with static areas. Mine is this one or very similar: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/televisions/televisions/lg-55um7000plc-55-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-led-tv-10199314-pdt.html
FishCustard Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Would recommend getting the same model in both rooms so that remote controls / tunings / other quirks are the same for both - save yourself some faff!
mavhc Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 The best info I found when I bought mine was https://www.avforums.com/threads/my-best-value-tvs-2019-2020-edition.2259070/
