kennysarmy Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 We are just getting to grips with TEAMS. I've allowed all staff the ability to create Teams and have noticed the departmental ones they have created are now appearing in the global address book. For example we now have scidept@ (which is our email generated one) and science@ (which has been created due to a Science Team being created) How can I hide or get rid of the Teams email and stop it from being created in the future?
djm968 Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 You can do it the same way you do with groups using PowerShell on individual Teams. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/users-and-groups/set-unifiedgroup?view=exchange-ps Set-UnifiedGroup -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled cmdlet. 2
kevlav1 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 You do not need to hide groups with linked teams this is done automatically. Any group with a linked team is automatically hidden from the GAL. If you have 365 groups appearing in your GAL they don't have linked teams and have probably been created from exchange online by clicking "New Group". The whole thing is a bit of a management nightmare as its very easy for your GAL to become cluttered by staff creating 365 groups. Microsoft changed things so that any group with a linked team is hidden but that doesn't stop staff creating groups in other ways and the only way to stop it at the moment is blocking group creating for staff all together.
