Students changing Spotlight background (Login Screen)

Hi all,

We've just been called to an IT Suites where a few computers had their login screen background changed to what I would describe as distasteful.

I can't figure our how students could have been able to do this, or where the background images are being stored.

Can anyone suggest ways to discover where these images could be found in Windows?

Hi,

To find the current images you could try the following.

If its the login screen for all users check the value for the LockScreenImage reg string in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization

If its the user lockscreen try

[Windows.System.UserProfile.LockScreen]::OriginalImageFile

if you're running the education version of Windows 10 you can specify the background in GPO.
