[sims] Achievement Points for selected dates

Hi,

 

I'm trying to create a report in SIMS which shows the number of achievement & behaviour points and attendance between certain dates. E.g for a term.

 

I can design the basic report but I thought that 'effective date' might help me produce two snapshots of points. However, I get the same results no matter what effective date I use.

 

Does anyone have a successful workaround for this?

You will need to add filters to the behaviour sub-report. Double click the blue sub report and a filter area will appear at the bottom of the screen, choose date is between and add your dates, you will need to repeat the filter for all sub reports to get matching data.

Thanks for your reply. I've had a look at this and I'm not sure where I am going wrong but all adding a sub-report and date filtering seems to do is generate a list of achievement award incidents rather than a simple total number of points generated. I've gone from a report with each member of form on one line to having each member of form having as many lines as they have had achievement logs. Have I missed something? Thanks

If you add the subreport but don't add any fields to it, it will generate a total number of records returned instead. Example: Behaviour Points: 34

This will only work as a points total if each behaviour type is worth one point.

Can you try the following report that I found recently on the scomis website? https://faq.scomis.org/kb21380/

 

Seems to work well for me! After running it'll put export into Excel and use a pivot table to aggregate the points

That definitely seems to do a job. If i can find a way of producing a report with all 3 elements (Achievement, Behaviour & attendance) from this then I'll repost it.

Yes - that's what I found. It reports the number of achievement incidents rather than points awarded. But thanks for the suggestions.

There are a couple of options here. The quick and dirty way is to look in the 'Analysis' output option. This outputs a simple pivot table which can then be exported to Excel. Takes some fiddling sometimes to get exactly what you want, and doesn't really work for other people to run if you have to mess with the parameters each time.

 

The longer method is to create a custom excel template to do what you want. If you're comfortable with VBA you can write a procedure that does the excel manipulation for you. It looks like this thread might be a good place to look.
