Adobe CS6 Deployment issues

Ok, This is annoying me.

 

Win 10 vanilla network. Sophos AV

Created package via Adobe AMEE for Adobe CS6 64bit.

 

When trying to install it starts the installer and then suddenly rolls back and doesn't install.

Anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve?

 

I'm about to research it online but thought I'd ask the question here.

It implies a user issue but I'm running as an administrator.

Are you just double-clicking the MSI to install? Try right click > run as admin if you can, or call it from msiexec /i /q

It's a while since I've installed it, but I don't think it works if you try to run the .msi via anything other than script or GP. You'll need to use setup.exe if doing it manually.

I recreated the package and have tried the command line install again and it now appears to be running.

I run into this with CS5. Running it as a user with local administrator rights isn't enough. The silent installer won't trigger a UAC prompt if you run it simply by double-clicking it. Either get around it by running it in an elevated command prompt (these will prompt for UAC), or as already mentioned, right-click -> run as admin. As long as the UAC prompt is brought up you're good.

Or use psexec to run as SYSTEM account like SCCM does.
