Mail attachment limits

I've been asked to look at our attachment limits.

 

Currently inbound/outbound is set to 10mb for staff and I think 5mb for students.

 

What do other schools use?

We have ours set at over 100MB for both in Office 365 if I remember right. Its certainly quite high.

Believe ours is 25Mb

Depends what the reason for having a limit is. Are you limited by disk space?

 

If I were running a server I'd just make sure any email's total storage was <1GB, so if there was no dedupe on attachments, can send a 1GB file to 1 person, or a 1MB file to 1000 people.

 

And limit each email to be half the remaining quota for that user
