Why can't I create a category named 'Subject'?

See pic. I want to create Subject as a Category Type (ie under CES Assessment Services) but it won't let me if I call it 'subject'. (via Tools>Performance>Assessment>Category). I can call it 'Subj' or anything else. If I call it Dept as I have here, I can create new Categories within it eg Art, Maths etc and I can even name one of them 'Subject' it allows it.

 

What gives? In their manual it even shows 'Subject' as I am trying to create, with a little + symbol next to it on the tree, so it must be possible. And I'm sure I had it at my last school.

I think you will find it is because there is already a category called Subject under the CES Examination Services and you cannot have two Categories with the same name even if they are on different branches of the Category Tree.

yes you're right. That's a bit crafty - in the example in their manual they don't have the CES Examination Services at all.
