Transparent authentication for Windows users of Zimbra

Because Windows users are so used to everything automagically authenticating, I would like my users to fire up their Zimbra webmail and have it log them in without prompting for credentials.

 

AD LDAP authentication works fine but the only reference that I can find to my problem is Single Sign On - Zimbra - Forums which basically requires the use of an extra 'bit' and then uses special re-direction URLs.

 

I can see how this would work: Launch a web page -> Web page collects Windows username -> Web page generates URL -> Web page automatically redirects to generated URL

 

Sounds easy? I just don't have the ability to write this magical page so I would need to learn some kind of web scripting language first.

 

Has anybody else already done this and is in a sharing mood?
