mdrabble Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Following on from my previous post http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/211952-hyper-v-cluster-local-storage-questions.html I looking at a 3 node Hyperconverged system using S2D. I have a quote already from @VeryPC for 3 x Dell PowerEdge R640 but I am need to get 2 additional quotes to present to our governors in order to get funding etc. Someone suggested Stone - so if anyone from Stone would like to contact me, or alternatively if someone can give me a contact for someone stone that would be appreciated. Which them leaves with needing another supplier to quote. - Any suggestions? Many thanks 1
bald_pig Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 I'd always be looking at getting a quote from ICT Direct as well. 2
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Yep! Tell me what you need and I'll make something wonderful for you. Can do Dell if you'd prefer it instead of HP. 1

localtech Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 As it's Dell kit your after, why not get Dell education to quote? give them a call they will have a rep for your area Customer Care 01344 373 727 School Hunt Group 01344 373 716 1
snagrat Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Fujitsu did us a very competitive S2D quote. Are you actually looking for competitive pricing or just getting 3 quotes to keep the governors happy? What spec are you looking for? 1
MYK-IT Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Try ServerSource https://www.serversource.co.uk/?page=current_offers&category=Dell_PowerVault 1
PotNoodleTech Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I'd never buy new servers now, such a waste of money. ICT Direct, Server Source, IT in Stock I've used for servers and storage. I've only bought Dell kit but love my Poweredge 720XD and 730XD. Take advantage of profiteering multinational companies wasting £Billions on IT infrastructure and recycling perfectly good kit after 2-3 years, Save your school 80% on your server/storage/backup bills. I sound like a salesman - I am just PASSIONATE about schools throwing money down the drain 2

I'm looking for competitive pricing and keeping the governors happy by showing value for money etc.... Spec wise.... 192GB Ram, Mixture of flash and HHD storage and decent processors.
