Morning all,

Been using Autodesk Fusion 360 for a few years and it's not been a problem until recently. I'm finding students are struggling much more than usual to verify they are entitled to an education license. They complete the information online, selecting the right school etc, but nothing seems to happen or they are then asked to upload proof they are enrolled at school, which is new.

Has anybody had similar issues, or workarounds to get it working more consistently? Uploading proof is a new one I've not seen before, has anybody gotten around this requirement?

We've had nothing but trouble with Fusion...

The lab install is a joke! Anyway onto your point, yea we've had to do this also recently, our DT Teacher contacted their support and it's something they are now pushing to stop people claiming to be at a school.

More annoying for us at the start of December they decided to take our school off the list for no reason! Took 2 months of badgering to get it back on the list, in this time none of our new students could sign up to it.

It's my least favourite software by a country mile.

So I've been looking at installing Fusion360 at our school....as I've gone further through the process the whole thing got weirder and weirder...I thought to myself this cannot be right ? Surely there must be a method of "bulk" adding students or some kind of site license ? Which led me to this forum, which just seems to have confirmed my thoughts. Am i correct ? Each and every student must register themselves with Autodesk ? Potentially having to upload proof of being a student too ? Some of our students can't operate a keyboard let alone follow a registration and license activation process. Then there's the regular software updates forced upon you ? Is it me ? or have Autodesk have lost the plot ! ? Edited by BCSIT

Yes, unfortunately there is no method to bulk import users or site license - they need to sign-up for an account. Recently getting students verified with education accounts has become more difficult - sometimes support can sort it out, but it's hit and miss and they've started asking for proof to be uploaded, although not all the time.

Anecdotally, it seems to work better if the students sign-up for an education license before the 30-day trial ends.

Oh, I'm glad that other schools are experiencing the same problem! As we have been attempting to resolve this issue ourselves for ages.

Some student accounts register / work fine (beyond 30 days) even up to, and beyond a year later; whilst others fail after a month. We've even tried by comparing creating student accounts at home (e.g. signing and using the public free version) compared to using our educational licensed version of Fusion360 within school. But with no correlation, or obvious outcome.

We're in the same position. Our DT teacher has found that using Chrome rather than Edge seems to have better results but I've not idea why. He's been telling Fusion 360 support for over a year now and they admit its a problem but don't want to fix it and just close the ticket. Recently a scheme he's involved in have partnered with Autodesk to get younger students using Fusion 360. He's contact them to advise them that 'Announcement' they've made is flawed for two reasons, you need to be 13 to have an account and you can't get educational accounts even if you do register. I've not heard yet if they've got back to me on that one.
