is there a way of mapping shared drives within google drive as a windows drive for users when they log on to the network (same way they see the server shares stored locally)

Thank you for your reply, its very helpful. I can see it working great for the power users in the admin offices. How would I get this to work with all the students and staff without installing locally on each pc?

so currently all our data is local - mapped drives from the server through group policy.

If we move the data to the cloud I still would like to map drives for students.

Has anyone done this and can advise?

We install via a script with the --silent switch.

This installs as "G" by default (so should be spare?) but users need to log in manually on first use, IIRC. There may be a way to automate this, but it's only the staff at a Primary School so they have to do it manually.

Then, as there's a drive letter, I guess you could use Group Policy to make that the default location for the appropriate groups.
