deano3693 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 We use GDPRiS and will be moving to GDPR Sentry when our 3 year term that we are locked into is up as it is much more user friendly although GDPRiS has improved somewhat over the last few months. They cost about the same from memory. 1

Our resident GDPRiS man @GrumbleDook will be able to explain a lot better than I... ...but basically they do a few things: They give you a workflow to follow if/when you have a data breech to help you record down everything you need to, to monitor it and some I think give you hints and tips on dealing with They give you data maps (some do anyway) from some or most of the top EdTech suppliers - these show what data they collect, from where, for what purpose, how, etc. Most suppliers have supplied these to the vendors about their products. Higher than that they allow you to record what systems you are using, what processes you have in place for monitoring and recording, places to store your SLAs and DSAs. Basically, think of it as you MIS for your GDPR records. 1

It is not about having stuff You can dredge up if something goes wrong ... it is about reducing the chances of things going wrong in the first place. 2

Well I would and do anyway...

Leeoakley Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 There are lots of training materials/courses for this I would be skeptical if if worked purely as e-learning. Really a face to face or blended delivery (either external trainer or the DPO) should be pulling in as mandatory. It reads like you are looking for an LMS.
Dredda Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 yes - something that the teachers wont find too difficult to do - last time they did GDPR training through IT Governance and it was lengthy and not entirely relevant to their roles.

Difficulty is based on perspective and it reads like you'd need to deliver some hands on training edu specific, in the same way you'd do safeguarding. This should be backed up with some elearning and testing, Ideally aligned with the schools policies, so that you can log that all staff are aware of what the school expects from them. You'd want bitesize/half day sessions aimed at slt, teaching staff, office staff maybe even IT, all tailored.
