[1809, ou] Snip & Sketch - Error saving "Something went wrong"

Hey,

 

Been having an issue with Snip & Sketch for a while now where if I try to save anything (We're running 1809 across the site, not tried 1909 yet..) it will just come up with an error "Something went wrong".

 

According to the settings app, it has permission to the Pictures folder (common fix from Googling). This is happening for staff with both folder redirection as well as a admin account which has local folders.

 

Has anyone else experienced this with snip and sketch? Staff can always paste the screenshot into paint/word but... I'd prefer if it worked natively like Snipping Tool.

Not exactly a fix, however personally I continue to use the snipping tool which I pulled off of a machine before it was removed.

 

I'm not a fan of the modern apps and tend to avoid where possible.

We're running 1809 and still using the snipping tool. Has the snipping tool been removed in 1909?

The snipping tool is still in 1909, though it does now tell you it's going away in a future update.

I also get the same error message when using it.

 

I opt for the old Snipping Tool and have the shortcut deployed to our staff and students. No-one has yet to use the newer version.

I've been using ShareX. Granted getting it deployed if you don't have the Store and Configmgr isn't easy.

 

I also got the error and have Pictures redirected to Onedive.

Nice to know I'm not alone here then... although kind of annoying.

 

We still have snipping tool deployed and pinned to the start menu, guess I'll just keep staff using that then!

I think I fed this back via Twitter to MS. I'm not sure if you do folder redirection via group policy it should work. However if you just push the registry settings via GPP that may be where the issue is.
