Watched it this morning

it was OK - but not wonderful

lots of bit to camera that seemed unnatural

very suspicious about getting city cars with UK reg

so 2 of them get French city cars (if you can call a R4 a city car)

and Flintof turns up with a Nepalese version of a Land Rover (OK a rubbish one but anyway)

and then they go over dodgy roads that only the big tank can manage - without it and its ground clearance they would have been sunk

suspicious that the tank was put in to make the challenge possible

m don't

are you suggesting it was a setup? have you never seen a Top Gear special before? You know there's a few other vehicles with them for provisions, cameras, first aid etc? they didn't really need to buy chicken and "elbow pads".

I loved it, thought it was brilliant, and showed the new guys can do what the old guys used to do.

Loved the camera work as well amazing looking place.

camera work - agreed - wonderful

chicken and elbow pads - fine - no problem

and - Yup - the old ones were also silly - and it was always obvious that they had proper support stuff with them - including loads of spares and mechanics

so I expect to suspend some logic and just go with it

but this seemed to push reality too far

if they had just had 3 similar cars - fairly modern and European based it would have been fine

maybe have a Subaru or something

but an old R4 seemed a stretch - why not just have a 2cv as well (actually a 2CV might have done quite well - used to have one and it could go over anything!)

and the Nepalese thing was just off - I mean, if they all had the same brief and picked their cars using that - why would he choose that - why not pick an actual Land Rover

just seemed a push too far

probably just me
