Windows 10 Feature Updates via WSUS

Just looking for a bit of advice. I have many 1903 clients which I have successfully upgraded to 1909 via the enablement package in WSUS. For the older machines that are a bit behind on feature updates I have started deploying the 1903 feature update in stages but I am having a problem where it just sits at Downloading 0% and then eventually reports back to WSUS as failed. I have checked and my WSUS server has downloaded the 1903 update correctly so im not sure what the problem is.

 

Anyone else had a similar issue? Or would you recommend just re-imaging the clients in question to 1909?

I had quite a few clients that did similar - I used a script which stopped the Windows Update service on the client, deleted the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder then restarted the service. That worked on 99% of them.
