Hi.

My colleagues are setting up plans for 2020/21 but the students are still showing in last-years year group (ie a current year 11 student is showing in year 10 on Options).

How/where does Options Online data come from?

On a (probably related note) the SIMS Service Manager is showing attached. I've installed patch 25266 (Sims online Services Schema) and restarted the service but no change.

Anyone else / any advice?

(I've logged a ticket but it'll be christmas before they get back to me)

It should just pull direct from NT6/Options as normal (as in "offline" options). What are they showing in there?

Only thing that springs to mind is something like they haven't put the promotion rules (mapping whatever you like to call it) in for the new year? In a very basic level, setup academic year (pastoral etc etc), set promotion rules, change to that year, and they should show in that year/school year. Select scheme (base bands etc), and then assign said year 10s to year 11 bands in that scheme

I've just logged in and looked; she swears blind that she had setup academic promotion but there's none there. (She's setup new academic year ok).

I've put in rules for 10>11, but it still showing wrong in Online.

I can't check Options or NT6 as I don't know what i'm doing and don't want to break things :)

I didn't think options online had anything to do with NovaT6 at all.

I just created a year 8 into 9 plan to test this for you and it's working fine - we've not done anything outside the options-online interface. no promotions for the next year set up yet either.

The common issue is not realising that you need to set the target membership date to sometime in the next academic year then pick the year group they'll be in at that point in time.

when you go to the select students page it'll show you the year they are in CURRENTLY - so i picked 3/9/2020 and a target group of year 9 - then on the next page it showed me the current year 8s.

I'm pretty sure we're doing that the same as you.

Date is 07/09/2020, Year is 11, student picker is showing year 10's who would be in year 11 next year - as you describe.

But, the year 10's it is showing are last years year 10's, currently in year 11, who will be in year 12 next year.

I know the student called Jay on the screenshot and i've double triple checked he's currently in year 11.

Hi Peter,

I know its been over a year, but how did you resolve this issue? As I am seeing exactly the same problem!

Thanks, Huw.

Hi Huw

I'm not Peter but I can offer you the following advice!

If you go to the admin portal is it showing a message regarding an online services patch which needs applying? If so apply this and then restart SIMS Services Manager on the server. If you apply the patch without restarting SSM then you won't see the impact of the patch application until the following day. From memory the current patch is 26262 and can be deployed from SOLUS (you might need your support unit to release it to you though)

If there is no message about a patch then skip straight to restarting SSM and you should find the students are in the right year groups.
