pbad Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 When some students and some staff send their print jobs to the virtual queues and then they go to the printer to release their work, the printer shows no jobs to release. Any ideas? This has recently started to happen to a few students and staff. Nothing has been changed software wise so no idea why this should be happening.
network41 Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Do they have an email address in Papercut ?
pbad Posted November 26, 2019 Author Posted November 26, 2019 Do they have an email address in Papercut ? Yes, all staff and students have an email address in paper cut.
RichWildWolf Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 Papercut can hide print jobs if it thinks the user is offline. This should show up in the the log on the front page. Should say something like "(Username) is offline. Job was hidden from print release until user is online" There is a config for this to change that support told me to change to the recommended value. The config key is: print-job.offline-if-no-contact-seconds The default value is : 90 Seconds They said to change it to: 86400 Which is a day. Then jobs should appear in the job queue as soon as you change it, no restart of papercut needed. 1

MatthewL Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 This is a known issue where jobs are been hidden and there is a hot fix available. I bet the jobs are still in the windows queue but don't show in PaperCut for release.
RichWildWolf Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 It's in the Papercut Admin Interface. Go to Options > Advanced Tab > Config Editor on the right hand side box. Search for that key above and change it to the value above and press update.
ross79 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 i'd get in touch with papercut, let them know if you see any warnings in the app log tab about print providers going offline
