About ross79

  1. a TWN4-P will also read it. The fobs from paxton are often Hitag2
  2. papersize is a good shout. Send a fresh job and recreate the issue then go onto the devices own webpage and look for any logs it may have. What does the device think happened? from papercuts POV it has sent the job off to the printer and its (hopefully) left the server. You could also enable event viewer to track print jobs and see what windows thought happened to the job https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/LogPrintJobsInEventViewer
  3. It depends on what you find valuable as an organisation. If you have Lexmark devices then your life just changed for the better. If you use print deploy or mobility then you have new features to look forward to that make life easier for your users, they can print from anywhere or roll out queues of their choice easily without you touching GPO If you use EPIC for EMR then your printing setup got a lot easier If you have a load balancer your install of papercut can now be even more highly available If you were waiting for device scripting on a bunch of new platforms, you can. etc
  4. i'd get in touch with papercut, let them know if you see any warnings in the app log tab about print providers going offline
  5. I would always suggest using an external database regardless of size, there are some great options out there.
  6. that should be off as part of any install https://www.selectec.com/windows-papercut-best-practises-part1/
  7. So, papercut may do that by default on a virtual queue.
  8. on your print queue (under printer management) what is the availability set to?
  9. so a few versions back if you restarted the print provider the client would ask you to confirm what shared account you wanted to print to (i think it still may do this on Novell) but that was fixed a while back. I would enable debug in the admin UI and on the print provider: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/HowToEnableDebugInThePrintProvider and recreate the issue and send your supplier some logs with the details of a sample print job that had the issue.
  10. what version are you running there? is your papercut print provider service restarting at all?
  11. i am sure there is a report that lists users/departments - just run it to csv and sort by no department (or empty department field)
  12. So, papercut does not really control what you get in the driver, can you post a pic of the greyed out box? As for the filter not applying - are you applying it to just restricted accounts? if so is that user restricted? Did papercut log the job as 18 pages? Can you post a pic of a transaction log for a user that should be getting £2 per week?
  13. manager mode is not an option on the copiers. tricky to display all those users nicely but you could use a search i agree. i'd email papercut and raise it as a feature request i am sure its come up before
