Webserver Apache Userdir to share

Hi all,

 

The head of IT asked to have setup a webserver for students to do web development with. We have setup the server with Xampp, but the teacher also wants to setup mod_userdir to direct to the student home drive share, thats on another server. Is this possible?

 

We have tried linking to the user share with the help of this doc https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_userdir.html, which we can get to work on the webserver, but cannot seem to get it to work via the user home share.
