Hey All

i am looking for some advise on moving our local homefolder/desktop/docs to onedrive, does anyone have any good guide.

what issues have you faced when moving.

did you test with a handful of user.

did you move all the network shares to sharepoint.

when mapping the drives onsite did you use the onedriver mapping tool.

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob. If you PM me your email address I can email you our staff help guide for this. We're coming to the end of this exact process. We gave staff 3 months to transfer all of their files over to OneDrive, last week their File Server documents became read only, to help the migration push, in January staff File Server homedrives will be turned off completely. The only issue we've come across is staff just not following the process in time. We tested with a few staff before the summer, all went well so have pushed ahead this term. All File Server shares were migrated onto SharePoint Online before the Summer, mapping all SharePoint shares via IAM Cloud - Cloud Drive Mapper. OneDrive mapped to O Drive via GPO - mapping the users's local OneDrive location. Cheers. Thimon

Sorry to hijack the thread but is it possible to replicate to onedrive instead of actuially moving files, so to have files in a local share which then replicates to Onedrive?

@supportman IAM Cloud are promising a client version that doesn't use webdav, so much faster transfer speeds. We're on the waiting list to have access to the BETA version soon.

Yeh thats one of the companies we tested it with, they have been promising that for 3 years ;)

We gave up and didn't renew with them after the first year as the speeds were so slow.

Many thanks.

Brilliant. Would you also be able to send me the guide please? I’ll send a PM

(You’ll have to set up a distribution list at this point!!)
