Staff Bulletin

We currently send an email every day to the staff with attachments as a bulletin, this contain all the usual day to day fluff yesterday's had these continents:

 

1. Debate Club Years 7-10

2. Core CPD

3. Student Updates

4. CPD Next Week

5. Sims Server Updates – Friday Reminder!

6. Career Talks – Hospitality/Catering

7. Weekly Staff Bulletin

 

Each item is a paragraph or two on the subject.

 

These emails are great on the day but they are not very searchable, does anyone have a good way of archiving these in a searchable format?

have you got one? If not make one. It wouldn't be too hard to code it to publish the content of the email.

One place used sharepoint and one of the deafult modules which produces a list on the front page, and each person just added their own etc

 

Another place had a access database, people added their own news, a PDF was emailed out day (from memory it was auto sent)

If you want the contents to be searchable, send it out as a straight email, rather than as a word document attachment in an email.

Some kind of wiki perhaps?

Our QNAP NAS has a simple one which the children can use to get the idea of it. Maybe something similar out there.

Why is it an attachment, and why can't your email system search attachments?

If your a Office 365 school make use of SharePoint for an intranet page. This is what we use for staff notices, calendar, quick links. Guidance documentation etc.
