activinspire pen not able to write on the board

I have clicked on something on active inspire in an attempt to get squared paper on the board. I have now got a page browser button on my tool bar but the pen will not write only draw a shape which disappears? I have no idea how to get it back! Any ideas gratefully received

Hopefully this will work for you: https://hfmedtech.wordpress.com/2014/10/14/how-to-change-default-tool-in-activinspire-tech-tip-tuesday-4/ but change the default tool to Pen rather than the select tool.
