Data2 Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Hello, I have been asked to look into TA Timetabling. Does anyone use anything to generate these based on the student timetables? We use SIMS and NovaT6 for timetabling at present. Thanks
danielstucke Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 No but would also be interested in any solutions for this. I know the TAs could all be added to Nova-T and but on as an additional adult in each room. But with TAs timetables always in a state of flux I'd rather avoid this. It would be like building 25 extra teachers timetables where they dot from lesson to lesson to lesson.
Bill8 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 You can avoid using Nova and add them directly to the relevant lesson via: Focus>School>Academic Structure>Edit Lesson Staff and Rooms 3
danielstucke Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Thanks! Is there then an easy way for teachers to see where they have a TA assigned to the class? Doesn't show on the timetable for the teacher that there is an additional adult with them?
danielstucke Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Thanks! Is there then an easy way for teachers to see where they have a TA assigned to the class? Doesn't show on the timetable for the teacher that there is an additional adult with them? Ignore me - the other staff member is visible on 'My Timeline' when you hover the mouse over the lesson.
danielstucke Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I've hit another snag with this. If I add TAs via the Focus>School>Academic Structure>Edit Lesson Staff and Rooms menu in SIMS, every time a new version of the timetable is uploaded from Nova-T those allocations are wiped out again. Is there any way around that or does it render that method all but useless? (With hindsight I've hit this problem before when trying to rotate staff in a block in SIMS rather than in Nova-T). Thanks
PaulHAbacus Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 I realise this is an older thread, but for anyone who found it from Google like I did, I thought it was worth posting that the company I work for has released some quite sophisticated software to solve this exact problem. The details can be found at our company website: https://www.abacusedutech.co.uk/ta-timetabler
