bfelton Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with the address validation service in SIMS today... it would appear that http://www.capita.co.uk has become http://www.capita.com , do we think that this could have broken the address validation service? We are getting 403 errors in our smoothwall which matches the 403 error when browsing to http://www.capita.co.uk.. Any input would be gratefully received!
MrMat Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Yeah we're having an issue with Address Validation as well so you're not on your own. I've put a thread up on MyAccount to see if others are getting the same thing. 1
Hardeep_Sco Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Hi guys, Did you resolve the issue? I am having the following Issue, the system was unable to verify a connection to the internet. Certain Optional SIMS .net features may be unavailable. Any ideas?
MrMat Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Hi guys, Did you resolve the issue? I am having the following Issue, the system was unable to verify a connection to the internet. Certain Optional SIMS .net features may be unavailable. Any ideas? We discovered our issue was a weird SIMS bug! Long story short, if we go into SIMS Services and test it always fails. Once failed, it locks the address validation down so if you go to a pupil record and try to validate it fails. However, if you open SIMS (DO NOT go to SIMS Services) and go straight to a pupil record and validate, it works just fine. 1
round2it Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 i had a similar issue last year where i had to update dot net for address validation to work 1
Hardeep_Sco Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I have connected to another school, I have tried it in the office and all I get is the following "the system was unable to verify a connection to the internet. Certain Optional SIMS .net features may be unavailable". I have applied the activation patch 7186 at a school but didn't make a difference. It seems there is an underlying issue, unless I am wrong.
round2it Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 working here can you ask the isp to do a trace on the pc you are testing from just to see if something is being blocked
Hardeep_Sco Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 I have tried it at 2 schools now, on 2 different ISPs and none of them are working.
