IT Support Technician (2nd / 3rd line) – North Yorkshire * URGENT *

Salary £20,000 - £25,000 (Full time position)

Our client, a small independent school in North Yorkshire situated in beautiful countryside and surrounded by 40 acres of landscaped gardens and sports fields have an urgent requirement for an experienced 2^nd / 3^rd line IT Support Technician.

 

As the IT Support Technician, your time will be split between day-to-day IT Support and Project-based work.

You will be responsible for the daily upkeep, configuration, and improvement of existing IT systems and services in addition to resolving support calls and finding / documenting resolutions.

 

 

Other duties will include:

• Taking ownership of service desk tickets and work proactively to find a resolution
  
• Handling support calls and monitoring / troubleshooting networking issues
  
• Administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure including Active Directory, G Suite and Office365
  
• Managing LAN\WAN technologies (mainly Cisco)
  
• Administer backup and disaster recovery systems and processes
  
• Producing technical documentation for projects and solutions
  
• Occasional out of hours support
  

 

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience supporting IT within a school or college and be able to drive, with daily access to a car or motorbike.

 

Essential technical skills include :

• Excellent knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 or above
  
• Good knowledge if Chromebooks, Apple products and MDM solutions
  
• Good administration knowledge of cloud-based services (i.e. G Suite or O365)
  
• A professional qualification (Microsoft, Google, Networking / CCNA etc.)
  
• Excellent organisation, time management and problem solving
  
• Excellent customer service and communication (written and verbal)
