chazzy2501 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Thanks to our new filtering mechanism staff want to embed YouTube into PowerPoints. It doesn't work:( but only on the windows 10 with office 2019 the older win8 office 2013 machines work fine. I thought group policy... but the office 2016 GPOs (yeap thats confusing) have only 1 configuration for users to do with the outlook social connector. No machine policies applied. We can go to the video add, search youtube, choose a video but then nothing happens... I tried adding an embed code from youtube and that also fails to do anything. No errors just nothing.
chazzy2501 Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 ok, fixed it, I needed to enable "allow caching of encrypted pages" IN internet explorer! the videos now embed but error on playback
APMerry Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I've got the same thing in Powerpoint 2016 and Win10. Do you mean "Do not save encrypted files to disk"? I have that disabled in IE but still doesn't work. Works absolutely fine as local admin though.
Arthur Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Thanks to our new filtering mechanism staff want to embed YouTube into PowerPoints. It doesn't work Which filtering solution are you using? My school uses DNS-based YouTube restrictions (in addition to Sophos XG) and to get PowerPoint to play YouTube videos the user has to sign into their Google account in Internet Explorer.
chazzy2501 Posted October 2, 2019 Author Posted October 2, 2019 Yes, I meant "do not save encrypted files to disk" and I'm happy that the filtering isn't the issue as the windows 8 / office 2013 works well.
MatthewL Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 I've got the same issue, unticking the do not save encrypted files to disk resolves the issue but we don't want to untick this as a risk. Has anyone had the same issue with Sophos filtering in the cloud?
