Two parallel Spiceworks helpdesks (one for resource management)

Hi all,

 

Can anyone see any potential problems with running two instances of Spiceworks on the one network?

 

We want a helpdesk for our resources team (they make stuff for class teams, supply paper and laminating pouches, do copying, etc.), and my thinking is just to set up a separate Spiceworks instance, disable all the network monitoring stuff and let them have at it.

 

I did consider having them use ours, but (a) I don't want them having admin access to IT/facilities tickets, and (b) reporting will be easier with a separate instance.

I run two Spiceworks installs on different servers. One is for IT and one is for premises.

We have two instances of spiceworks installed. The only issue we had was they have to be on seperate servers.

Cool, that looks like a good solution then. Yeah, they'll be on separate VMs, of course.

As above, we have two, on seperate servers - works fine!

We have an email address assigned to each, and links to both on staff desktops.

I have 5 spiceworks servers on our network doing a range of things.

- IT helpdesk

- Site Team Tickets

- Catering requests

- Bullying Logs

- Accident logs
