Jaan Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 "Cloud" based I'm slowly making progress with trying to get this to work on our system. I'm expecting to see a list of supported banks in the drop down at "E-banking Service". I've installed the bank plugin, whitelisted urls, allowed ports and poked applocker with a stick multiple times...... however i'm struggling to get past this part. Just wanted to know if anybody else has had this issue. Can't see anything in the Sophos XG logs with regards to anything being blocked for the user, computer or any of the urls and port the installation guide says to whitelist. #almosthometime Cheers
Jaan Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 I've found that even though sage installs into the users app data location. Installing sage 200c, the E Banking components and the bank plug-in when signed in as a local admin, resolves the bank section in my previous post. "Cloud based" 1
supportman Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Struggling with this also. Any tips on installing it? Last time I tried I had an error that it couldn't access the shared start menu and just bombed out!
Boredguy Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 We just login as an admin to install the E-Banking exe file, and our SageE-Banking MSI for our commercial bank. So far the finance team have had no issues. Sage itself is stored in their local appdata, so when they have been off for a week and the profile has been removed, they have to wait for the installer to run again, but the banking details are still there and fine.
Jaan Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 Struggling with this also. Any tips on installing it? Last time I tried I had an error that it couldn't access the shared start menu and just bombed out! Yeah just ignore that, other start menus are read only. we place the sage installer (one click or whatever it's called) on there so they can launch it.
Boredguy Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Likewise, on first install it will complain and bomb out if you don't allow users to write to the shared desktop, but clicking the link again and it's loads happily until the user profile is deleted from the station
Jaan Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 I hate this "Cloud" software with a passion! Next issue...... Printing invoices hangs on step 4 of 6 from SAGE; -------------- Running reports - Printing invoices and orders and updating ledgers hangs on step 4 of 6 or step 5 of 6 Search Share When printing invoices, sales orders or purchase orders, or updating invoices to the ledgers across a network, occasionally the software hangs on step 4 of 6 or step 5 of 6. Run Sage Accounts as an administrator Many programs, including Sage Accounts, need to perform administrative tasks during their normal operation. To allow Sage Accounts to perform administrative tasks, you may need to run the software as an administrator. Right-click the relevant shortcut then choose Properties. Click the Shortcut tab then click Advanced. Select the Run as administrator check box then click OK. Click OK then on the Access Denied window, click Continue. To return to the Windows desktop, click Continue. Tip: If you're not logged on to the PC as an administrator, the User Account Control window prompts you to enter the user name and password of an administrator. Enter the user name and password then click OK. You've now successfully set the program to run as an administrator. 1
supportman Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Would adding the user as a local administrator of the PC work in the same way? I have no issue doing that if it fixes all these bizarre issues.
Jaan Posted September 23, 2019 Author Posted September 23, 2019 Sorry for the late reply. Doing this on my domain admin account results in the same error. I was kinda wanting it to simply be the local admin issue...... I'm stumped now....
Jaan Posted September 26, 2019 Author Posted September 26, 2019 Any body running Sage200c had the issue i have in Post#7? I've tried local admin, infact i get the error if i login as domain admin also. Not sure if its a sage issue or a config error on the domain at this point. any help appreciated.
Jaan Posted October 28, 2019 Author Posted October 28, 2019 I get upto the same place on a off domain full admin permissions machine. I'm totally baffled.
mobybrick Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Hi, I don't suppose anyone can share a GPO export of their AppLocker rules? Same problems here. Any joy with the printing issue? Thanks Moby
Jaan Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Hi, I don't suppose anyone can share a GPO export of their AppLocker rules? Same problems here. Any joy with the printing issue? Thanks Moby No joy here with the printing issue. not sure it's a printing "issue" to be fair as they can print from sage. when running the job, the sage seems to need read access to the security section of event viewer and fails. Tested on an off domain machine as computer admin and it fails also..... so no idea. can't "run as admin" as its not an exe it's a .appref-ms i hate this software.
