We have upgraded Virtual center to 6.7 U2c build number 14070654. Veeam server is running version 9.5.4.2866. When trying to add the new virtual center into Veeam we get the below error message.

Anyone any ideas?

I had that this week.

Had to add with fqdn (vSphere.school.domain)

My old vSphere was added with just server name but 6.7 seems to need fqdn.

In case it helps anyone else:

Thank you for your time on the phone call and on the remote session.

A brief recap for our session:

1) We were able to confirm, that connect was failing as it was going through the proxy - and as the services are running under local system account - and proxy exclusions are not applied to it.

We've changed the service logon account to domain admin - and we were able to add the server just fine.

2) Permissions that are needed to service logon accounts:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/required_permissions.html?ver=95u4

"The account used to run the Veeam Backup Service must be a LocalSystem account or must have the local Administrator permissions on the backup server." - so if the domain admin is in the local administrator group on Veeam server, it's fine to use it.

3) PsExec Microsoft tool - could be used to launch application from the particular user.

In our case if you want to switch back service to logon with local system account, it is needed to disable proxy for it - so basically it's needed to start internet connection wizard (inetcpl.cpl) from local system account with this tool:

Please let us know if you will have any additional questions or if we should go ahead and close this case.
