I never understood why Rutger Hauer was never a bigger star than he was but (according to something I read this morning) he chose not to be as he didn't want the hassle that comes with it.

 

Of course, his most famous scene would be a bit inappropriate to post - so I'll go for a clip from one of my favourites. Not much Rutger until the end, but the film did allow him to show a softer side (occasionally) than most of his other roles.
