SimonInOz Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) Hi, We use W10 Educational, v1803 currently in a domain setting. When users change their passwords, they then go to OneNote, OneDrive, Store, Email and update the password in the box(es) provided and save it etc. Is there any way to propagate a new password so it feeds into these applications automatically? Some of the students just don't do it (update the password), and end up back in IT because the app is 'not working'. They also save their password into Chrome, but that is easily updateable so not a huge issue. I just need a way to have them change their password, and just do it once. Is that even possible? Cheers all. Edited July 24, 2019 by SimonInOz
free780 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 You should look into Single Sign On with via ADFS or PTA or PHS. Best security practice now is to not expire passwords but rather use 2FA to protect accounts.
Davit2005 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I used DirSync or later on Azure Connect at a last employment.
fredbayker Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 +2 for azure connect. Password changes kick off an immediate sync
SimonInOz Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 Thanks, can you provide some links on azure connect in relation to getting it up and running? Many thanks
psumner1992 Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 https://aadguide.azurewebsites.net/dirsync/aadconnect/ This is an old guide but gives you a feeling of what is needed.
