Arthur Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 🤷 ‘The worst thing to happen to cats since dogs’: A round-up of the most brutal reviews of Cats 19 December 2019 marks the day that the embargo has broken on reviews for Cats… and they are not good. If revelling in the utter savaging of a big budget movie is your cup of tea, saddle up, because it’s quite a ride. The Telegraph (zero stars) ‘Once seen, the only realistic way to fix Cats would be to spay it, or simply pretend it never happened. Because it’s an all-time disaster – a rare and star-spangled calamity which will leave jaws littered across floors and agents unemployed.’ Continues...
siuko Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Looks like they are pushing out a patch for cats lol - https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/universal-notifies-theaters-cats-is-being-updated-improved-visual-effects-1264689 Not seen that happen very often once it is in the cinemas
Arthur Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 Not seen that happen very often once it is in the cinemas Would this be called post-post-production? While they are at it they should digitally replace James Corden with someone/something less annoying. Even a real cat would be fine. 1
Andrew_C Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 I heard it got 5 stars.... across 28 reviews. 1
DJ-1701 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Would this be called post-post-production? While they are at it they should digitally replace James Corden with someone/something less annoying. Even a real cat would be fine. He is the main reason I don't want to see it...
elsiegee40 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 We are going to see it this afternoon and will make my own judgement. I have seen the stage show twice, and my daughter was addicted to the stage-show video as a child, so it has a lot to live up to.
LeMarchand Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 While they are at it they should digitally replace James Corden with someone/something less annoying. Even a real cat would be fine. Can't stand him either. Not seen the musical, but the songs I've heard haven't grabbed me, so it's a "wait for it to pop up on Netflix/Amazon/Sky" for me. I'm not expecting it to be great, but I don't think I'll hate it. Guess they over estimated how many Furries there are.
Arthur Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 it has a lot to live up to. Apparently the updated version of the movie won't be in most cinemas until tomorrow so you will be one of the last few to see Judi Dench's human hand before it is replaced with a CG version. https://twitter.com/jenelleriley/status/1208659588414758912
Arthur Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 I'm not expecting it to be great, but I don't think I'll hate it. It will be interesting to find out what you and/or @elsiegee40 think of it in due course. 1
DJ-1701 Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Guess they over estimated how many Furries there are. Believe me, there are more than enough Furries to make this film popular if that was all it took... but there is also this thing called Taste.
