So I had this issue with one computer where no matter how many time I put in the licence key it would say it was an unlicensed product but prior to that said ti was activated and for me to restart.

After being on the phone to Microsoft for an hour with them sending me to other departments, they asked for some information that I didn't have or ever had. Because I didn't have that information it would only be basic support for me. (I'm supporting a primary school)

The week before last I finally fixed the issue by running the .Net framework repair tool. But last week it said it was unlicensed again. I've looked all over the web and nothing seems to be any help. The repair tools don't seem to find any issues. Not had it with any other computer.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have reinstalled office and get the same issue. Office 365 isn't installed too.

To be honest, with a machine like that? I'd re-image the entire machine.

I know I would love to do that but it is an office machine that has some software on it that the company charges for it to be installed (They has to do it before). It is a fairly new Win 10 install.

They don't want me to re-image.

This is a volume agreement.

Are you using a key that corresponds to your latest agreement? I've had some problems of late where MS seem to be "retiring" older keys.

Yes, there are two keys and both work with other installs of office. I have also tried both of them on the problem computer but no luck!

KMS or MAK?

Tried 2019? Installation method is different, though.

I haven't tried 2019 and not even had a look at installing so have no clue. It is a MAK.

The two 2016 keys are different and both work.

Yes, but when Office is saying it is unlicensed, is it still listing the same key? Or a different key, or none at all?

Ah, I see what you mean. Not actually looked at that. Was a while ago when I was working but I believe there was none at all. Will have a double check.

Open office, activation box pops up asking to sign in or enter product key. Enter product key. Yes to UAC another pop up box says it has now been activated and to close office. When i close and open it happens again. Tried repairing office nothing, tried to enter key when in modify in add and remove programs still nothing...

I've installed Office 2019. It has activated, hopefully will stay like that now!

If you created the configuration.xml and are happy with it, don't forget to save it for future use!
