Sophos XG new firewall install

D-day is luming (Wednesday) I will be fully installing from start to finish my new xg firewall. I will be setting up SSO with the client on the DC has anyone setup there new xg recently anything you come across that might help out .

would setting the same ip address as the old one confuse anything is this bad practics

No we did same IP on ours and changed our old UTM to a different one as clients pointed to dns name

Remember to add your admin logon into stas exclusions. No doubt I’ll think of others after I’ve pressed post !

How did your install go ? we are thinking of purchasing a sophos (or a fortinet) for one of our primaries

I would really advise investing in some onsite installation time from their professional services team. They know the system and will get you up and running much faster than doing it all yourself. We're moving from SG to XG later in August, and have a day's engineer time to do a knowledge transfer and assist.

well started this on monday 1st day was ok got a lot of stuff setup, second day was setting all the web filtering policy up , third day setting all wifi networks up, and the last day is tweaking the staff policy's as is blocking a lot more than the UTM did.

 

over all seems good but i wont tell until everyone is back, sso with stas client on the dc works flawlessly.

 

Were could i sell my UTM 9 SG310 .
