Has anyone tried this to non gmail address?

I have tried to my Hotmail and all I get is a link to login to gmail but it says that the email is only visible for my hotmail.

I have tried the send code via sms and not, but there is no code sent

I thought that a code was to be sent to access.

IIRC the initial link in your Hotmail should take you to a Google page where you click a button to be sent a passcode (so not a normal Google login page). Whilst that passcode is being sent to your Hotmail, the Google page then changes to a passcode submission page.

Still no joy tried all sorts of configurations of browser and different pcs/laptops and I never get the option to get the code.

Thanks for the info though. At least I know what it is supposed to do now

This is not working for me either. No matter what option I choose when creating the email, the email I receive at my teats account only gives me the option to login using a google account, it never sends me the sms txt or even offers me that option, even if it was selected as the option when creating the email.

Glad someone else has a problem.

Have just had a "Live chat" with google support, tried various things. One thing was is the receiving email used as a recovery for a gmail account "I don't think so"

Anyway they have transerred this to the email team. I am waiting for them to get back.

The account I was using was @hotmail.co.uk.

I created a new outlook.com address and tried and this worked :).

So I am waiting to see what they say about that.
