Anyone else get the strange email about RS?

I'm undecided if this is a prelude to a phishing scam or just a poorly-worded FOIA campaign. It's apparently been sent around to lots of RS depts?

After warning my Reception about it yesterday from reading that linked thread, we had that exact email this morning, even the same signature. Which makes it seem like they've just gotten round to Lincolnshire today, and it is a targeted scam (whatever it is they're doing) rather than an automated system.

We received this yesterday, I was alerted to it after the teacher had replied.

Well, the same email with the same wording has been sent to hundreds of schools all around the country. I highly doubt that person is actually a parent at each and every one of those hundreds of schools. Therefore on balance it looks like a scam designed to harvest head of RE contact details.

First off, That's not a scam, that's a phishing attack. Secondly, how do you know that's what they're doing, and not trying a different attack vector for infecting a network with something malicious?

It's not a scam as such but it is dodgy in some way that we currently can not define
