So i had a look at the contents DsktpEdu ALNG LicSAPk and what cals we use, and what ones that could be replaced with O/S alternatives i came up with windows server cal (which a quick google suggested i can find at around the £4 ovs mark), and the SCCM cal, which we could use MDT if money was that strapped, we license our SQL licenses per core.

 

We already have started to deploy GIMP instead of photoshop, and today/monday ill build a LibreOffice package.

To be fair, ours were £36 after quotes. I think this is pretty good value (127 FTE but 1800 users!)

We are 150 FTE and getting £37.09 ex-VAT, which is 44.50 all in so still beating you by £4.

Are these 2nd/3rd years on an existing OVS-ES agreement? If not care to share the name of the resellers?

 

Our current 3 year OVS-ES agreement runs out this year and due to the DfE/Microsoft MoU expiring the quote from our current reseller for DsktpEdu ALNG LicSAPk licences has gone up by over £20 (now £56.33 excl. VAT) and WinSvrDataCtr ALNG LicSAPk licences by just under £100 (now £325.85 excl. VAT)... Not shopped around for quotes yet but if these prices are repeated elsewhere it's a 50%+ increase on our annual licensing costs :\

Yes, we're 3rd year in a 3 year. I've budgeted for a 50% increase next year to be safe. Millgate is our current supplier, but I went through the Framework and they were still the cheapest on this occasion.
