Hi there,

My own computer failed the other day. All of my data was backed up which was great. I have re-built it and I am in the process of installing software.

Software like the VMWare ESXi for Windows.

I used to log into my VMWare host and just download it.

When I log in, I am presented with this:

VM1.PNG

When I click details, I get this:

VM2.PNG

If I close and reload, it just takes me to the login screen again. As this is the free version, I won't get any support. Does anyone know how I can overcome this. I am using Chrome but have also tried IE.

Thanks in advance.

I find this issue if it is the same. Don't hit enter after password, click log in.

Thank you very much. That did the job!

:-) Not sure why it does it, I only use ESXi at home and no longer for a job but it does it on the full version to.

Thanks everyone. Very helpful.

It seems it has changed since I last used it and did the update.

I used to connect to it via the web browser and then download the Windows software that allowed me to view the console windows of the VMs. But this doesn't seem downloadable now. Does anyone know where I can get it?

You should be able to download the VMRC from VMWare web site directly. This will give you the ability to get to the console of the VMs.

Yes it is a bit of a shame moving a way from the Thick Client INMO as I've used VMWare since ESX3.5 a lot has changed. I'm not over keen on 6.7 web interface personaly but moving away from flash is a good move.
