Adding new domain to office 365

Hi all

 

We have a school email working fine which is domain.org

 

Head has asked to buy another domain and have .co.uk to work too

 

In office 365 its all working fine as in DNS showing ok.

 

When i send emails to .co.uk it bounces back. After researching i found i need to add email address to proxy email in AD attribute tab - after adding here for test users it works fine.

 

What is the quickest way to get this done for all users and how will this affect any new users, will that domain also be added automatically or am i doing this wrong and there is a easier way?

The quickest way to update current users is to use something like Powershell to update the proxyAddress attribute using capital SMTP for the default email address and lowercase smtp for the alias.

 

For new users, if you want them to have the new domain as their default, the easiest way to do this is to add it as an additional UPN to your domain and then choose this for your new users.

we want to keep .org for new users bu also want if someone sends email with .co.uk then them to be able to receive it.
