Hi

We have a Google Edu account and this week a couple of teachers have had issues when trying to download attachments in Chrome, they just get a 'Download failed' error.

These users have previously been able to download, it allows them to download on other machines and it allows other users to download on their machine. I've reset their profiles, cleared their cookies but nothing has helped!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tracey

Can they download anything using Chrome, not just Gmail attachments? Disk quota limitation?

Google Docs, etc will download but nothing else. I've checked their disk quota and they have plenty of space.

Thanks

I'd try the same download, by the same user, on the same machine, but in an incognito window. I know you said you'd tried clearing profiles, cookies, etc. but prob still worth checking that.

Tried another browser?

Yes it works in Edge but we're a Chrome school so I don't want staff moving away to other browsers and it's really annoying me because I can't work out why :D

Yes tried incognito mode but it still fails.

Deleted all the users profiles on the server last night too...

Is the computer definitely online when the download fails? If Gmail was running in offline mode, that might explain why an attachment download fails.

You could try the same user/computer/download on a mobile hotspot, free of proxy servers, filtering, etc. and see if it behaves.
