Beer Festival (9th May to 11th May)

I know a few of our members are partial to a spot of real ale so I thought that this may be of interest.

 

The annual Salwick Beer Festival (just outside of Preston) is being held this weekend and all are welcome to attend. Although I don't drink ale, it is my local and I will more than likely be there so if anybody drops in, please say hi! (ask at the bar for Tricky if you don't know what I look like).

We had a beer festival near work a few months ago.

 

When I say near I actually mean it was held in one of the buildings work partially own, so it was quite handy (Half day work, half day booze)

i live in hastings down in east sussex, we have an annual beer and music festival for 4 days in july. but they're planning on not doing it now which sucks!

I've got a couple of mates from uni that live in Hastings that mentioned the beer festival. I hope they do continue it because I wanted to go lol.

I live in hastings and the beer festival was rubbish, it should have been renamed "Hasting Lager and rubbish music festival ps we have one barrel of real ale". The round table (the organisers) have missed the point of what a beer and music festival is, they wouldn't have a problem filling the park if it was a proper beer festival and/or music festival. The black horse festival is a good example.

 

They could have built on the success of keane and status quo, (i was at both gigs. status quo we're excellent, keane were poor due to the sound system set up) and started getting better names instead of the usual druss that they book.

 

Hastings has a rich history of music, the likes of elton john, the who, pink floyd, many other have all played the ballroom on hastings pier.

 

The organisers need to get rid of the rubbish lager supplier and get a proper beer supplier, move the festival to the west hill where it can hold 10,000 and not the poultry 6000 in the park, book better bands and a wider range of music and make it open form 3pm enabling time for more music.

 

The main reason it was cancelled due to money, as there was a very poor turn out last year. I wasn't surprise due to the weather. But people will stand in the rain and drink over priced beer if there was good music but as there wasn't nobody could be bothered to go.

 

Rant over, as it's cancelled this year any good beer festivals near hastings?

The Great Yarmouth 2nd annual beer festival is being held in the Priory centre over the bank holiay weekend (Starts Friday ends Sunday I believe).

 

All beers are from local breweries, Last year was a real success...
