howartp Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Just been speaking to a supplier about changing my Ruckus to Unifi. They tell me I should be looking at LigoWave, which i've never heard of. Searching Edugeek, a few users seem to have it for site-to-site links from 2010-2017 but nothing recent and nothing for regular onsite wifi. Anyone any thoughts on it?

Oaktech Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I've used LigoWave for PTP stuff, 3 or 4 times and it's good kit for that. I would expect their general purpose wifi to also be good, but there is absolutely nothing that competes with UniFi on value for money.
localzuk Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Their top level AP is a 3x3 design with only wave 1 802.11ac, so they can't be that good - they're behind the times with their tech. In comparison, Ruckus go up to an 8x8 design with wave 2 ac. Hell, they're even still selling 802.11n APs! Their main business seems to be PTP/PTMP stuff, with the enterprise wi-fi as an afterthought.
