Print Management Solution & Scanning to Sims

Well the 3 years are up and its time to review the printing contract in school, usually I avoid this like the plague as other people like to do their own thing a I just say "yeah sure i'll install and set it up" but they want me to come up with solutions... *sigh*.

 

So we currently have Ricoh printers with Equitrac Print Management and Sharescan with a connector (addon) for scanning direct into SIMS and its all rather expensive.

 

I've seen a lot of recommendation for Konica/Minolta and Papercut which covers Printers/Management however we have a good few users who love the ability to scan documents direct into SIMS from the MFP's.

 

What do you guys do in regards to this? Just have them scan to a home directory and upload into SIMS the usual PC/client method?

We have Ricoh and Papercut and are very happy with it. We don't allow direct scanning into SIMS as the add on software was waaay too expensive to justify.

 

Ps..came from Equitrac here and papercut is WAAAAY better and easier to use.

We used paid software scan to Sims but it was too expensive for what we wanted. Now we just scan document as normal on copier, save file on a network location, upload to sims manually. Office staff love this way so much easier than using paid software.

We started using recordlink to save office files to sims as most files tend to come in via email. There’s a pdf version also I believe. It’s not straight from the copier but makes uploading files from desktops easier

 

We pay just over £300 per year for it via capita
