Popular Post alonebfg Posted May 8, 2008 Popular Post Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) Here is Joomla 1.5 with Sysman templates on it I must say a thank you to joomlashine who have allowed me to post this with there sideshow in it. Also a thank you to sysman for letting me use the templates to do this. Be warned that this is not a simple update from joomla to joomla 1.5 It is easer to start from scratch. There are a few differences but will run alongside sysmans joomla. This is not designed to take over the original package and if you have that installed joomla 1.0 It is not worth installing 1.5 but if you are starting from scratch then it may well be worth using 1.5 If there are any problems or you have an issue please do not hesitate to post. Download package Link changed due to projects being down. here is the new link this is not the most up to date joomla package the in a new version coming out very shortly when I can get access to a pc as I have lost 2 this week due to faults. Joomla is using 1.5.4 we are on 1.5.4. Here is an up to date package Sorry it has taken so long with problems with ill health and work I have not ben around much in hospital mostly. the changes made are have removed a module for the slideshow and replaced it with this one http://www.rocketwerx.com/products/rokslideshow/overview added a mootools modual from here http://www.rocketwerx.com/products/rokbox/overview both of theses are very good and work really well for how to use them go over to the website and it explanes really well and there are a good set of fourms. also added the package joomlapack from http://www.joomlapack.net/ againg they have a good set of fourms and are very helpful I have also updated some coding issues with the change of joomla 1.8 I would like to reminded people that this is a free to download but does not mean the packages in it are free this package designed for education establashments to install themselves it is that easy and if they do have problems there are these fourms. It is up to the person downloading this package to find out the licencing issues with it. I have not updated any paid for packages and if you wish to do so you will have to pay for he update. Any company downloading for profit need to contact the fourm admins before downloading. download at http://www.cpcu.org.uk/joomla1.5.5.zip Demo site is not available returning soon. here. FN-GM Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 What will the 1.5 version do that SYSMAN_MK's version doesn't?
Edu-IT Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) What will the 1.5 version do that SYSMAN_MK's version doesn't? It uses the latest version of Joomla which you can find out more about on the Joomla website. Joomla! This version brings a few changes which are all listed on that site, look at the Overview page. reggiep Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Thanks for this. One question I have is where can I find the smoothgallery that was in the 1.0 version? I quite liked those pop up pictures and the text popping up. Is it somewhere that I can't find or will I need to install that again? thanks:confused:
alonebfg Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 It is now called jsn slideshow and it is in the modules there are 2 one for simple and the other for the rest of the templates. Smoothgallery has not been used in EG_joomla for some time as I beleave there is no longer support for it but in any case there is not one for 1.5 You will have to ask sysman why it was removed from original package. Thanks for this. One question I have is where can I find the smoothgallery that was in the 1.0 version? I quite liked those pop up pictures and the text popping up. Is it somewhere that I can't find or will I need to install that again? thanks:confused:
KecskeBak Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I've noticed that the "Styles" drop down box doesn't work. I'm modifying the eg_red1.5 template, and I've had to point the JCE to the template_css css file myself in the JCE Configuration screen. (I was trying to apply the frame to an image - and couldn't!) Am I doing something wrong (should this have worked without me doing anything) or is this something that needs to be looked at? I'm using a local XAMPP server on Windows XP with Internet Explorer 7. I'm really enjoying using Joomla! so far. Many thanks for all your hard work.
GrumbleDook Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 ZH is looking into it as I type. Thanks for the alert.
SimpleSi Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 @alonebfg I see you have done an update to the package which mentions fixes, updates and replacements. Could you list these so i can fix, update and replace bits in my 1.5.2 install please regards Simon
SimpleSi Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) Ta [edit] sorry for posting replay to another thread here ! [/edit] regards Simon Edited June 2, 2008 by SimpleSi
Principally_Speaking Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 FWIW, the copy of 1.5.3 that I downloaded on June 3 did not include the Simple Image Gallery plug-in. It is available at JoomlaWorks | The Joomla! & Mambo Professionals
SimpleSi Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 FWIW, the copy of 1.5.3 that I downloaded on June 3 did not include the Simple Image Gallery plug-in. Are you saying the 1.5.3 on 3rd June didn't have it but the 1.5.3 available now does? Or something else? Where would I find it (if I've got it in my 1.5.3 site)? regards Simon
Principally_Speaking Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Are you saying the 1.5.3 on 3rd June didn't have it but the 1.5.3 available now does? Or something else? I'm saying that the copy I downloaded did not have it. I do not know if the package available for download has been updated. Where would I find it (if I've got it in my 1.5.3 site)? You would know if you have it by looking at the list of plugins in the Administrator Plugin Manager for Simple Image Gallery Plugin. Or look in the User Guide section of the published site. If you find a bunch of images at the bottom of the Edugeek Template page (for example), it is properly installed. If you see {gallery} etc. it is not properly installed. Reference my previous post for download location.
Silvor Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Great project going on here. One thing I will say - would be useful if an 'upgrade' option could be included when the package is updated - Full or Changed Files option? Thanks for the hard work however

SimpleSi Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 @alonebfg I can't get 1.5.4 to work. Tried it on 2 real and 1 local test server. Jumps straight to end of install without actually doing anything! regards Simon
SimpleSi Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 :eek: There are 2 versions of egJP 1.5.4 The one I downloaded a few days ago is called edugeek 1.5.4.zip and the new one is called joomla1.5.4.zip Where's the version control department? Can we rename the new one to edugeek 1.5.5? I presume this is why I can't get edugeek1.5.4.zip to work? regards Simon
sparkeh Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Ahhhh I have the same install issue. EDIT: wait, I am getting edugeek1.5.3.zip from http://projects.edugeek.net/joomla.html Where is 1.5.4?
SimpleSi Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Getting more confused I always download via 1st post in this thread (I don't think alonebfg can update the edugeek projects site so the version there is always going to be behind the times) However, you shouldn't have an issue with egJP 1.5.3 (unless the 1.5.3 available via the projects site isn't 1.5.3!) regards Simon
sparkeh Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 :confused:I too am confused. Sounds like we are having the same issue...
SimpleSi Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 My file sizes are edugeek1.5.3.zip 13,814KB (as shown in XP Explorer) edugeek 1.5.4.zip 13,575KB joomla1.5.4.zip 13,555KB what have you got? regards Simon
